Dr. De La Cruz and hospital contract? HELP!
the difference is that with DS they physically take a chunck of your stomach out and you're left with a shorter intenstine path. So physically I think it lets you eat more, but since the intenstine path is now shorter it processes through your system faster. With RNY only the amount of food that fit in the pouch can be consumed and your instinstine patch is a little longer. There is more malasorbtion with ds though. So even with vitamins you can still get nutriet deficiency. Most Dr.'s don't do it for that reason. They consider it only a malasorbtion surgery where as rny is both malasorbtion and restrictive. If I'm wrong with this please someone correct me, but I'm pretty sure that's how my doctor explained it to me. Good luck!!
