Dr. De La Cruz and hospital contract? HELP!

Hi Aphrodites, I agree with you, he's the best.  To me, he's more trustworthy than Sosa, but that's just my opinion.  But I'm having revision from Lap-Band to RNY and I sort of got the feeling in my appointment with him in November 2007 that he's not very willing to do revisions.  I'm going to wait till mid-March and if I still get the run around about the "contract" I will go to another doctor that will be willing to do the revision.

That's weird when I went to him last time he was the one who mentioned revisions to me. He is very good in what he does. Actually the reason why he is so good is because he takes alot of cases other doctors reject. I'm personally super excited and now am just days away. whoohoo!! I sure hope you end up doing it with him, we would be able to meet in one the group meetings. Wouldn't that be great?

Yes, that would be awesome.  Did he happen to tell you what he told me?  That in his practice he's not seen much success with revisions?  He made me promise to do all he advised, including hiring a personal trainer to ensure I make it this time.  I've done all he's asked me...all I am waiting is on a date.  I've already started working out with the personal trainer...light workouts and mostly resistance training to get my back stronger and my core ready for this surgery.  I'm even starting to go to the support meetings next months so that I can get a head start and prove to him that I am more commited than he realizes.  Like I said, my insurance has approved all...just waiting for the date as soon as this "contract" gets resolved.  I hope to see you at the next meeting, you'll probably already have had surgery by then.  Good luck and I'll eventually see you on the losing bench.  Oh, by the way...good luck and godspeed with the shakes that you have to do for the 2 weeks before surgery...and be blessed.

Hi Redhaired, yes, I've heard he's in town now.  Actually, a while back you told me he was coming to Miami Beach from NY but I'm not too sure that I want to do a DS just yet.  I'm researching it, but not too sure about it.  But thanks for the information.

Hay Maria,  I am so sorry to hear that you are still goinghrough the same situation as before. I hope that it get reslved soon and you are able to get to do the Surgery wih Dr. De a Cruz. Insists with your Insurance company don' lt down your guard even though it sounds like for a little bit you are going to play the waiting game.  I wish you the bes o luck. Thanks Esther that is very sweet.  I have heard good things about Fleitas too, but I haven't looked into him.

If I recall correctly he did all of the surgeries. 

Just have one question What's the doffrence between the DS and the RNY! I 've done research and looked into these forums, and lots of people preffer DS but it's so hard to find a good Surgeon that does it! HELP????
