Looking for dr recommendations in Clearwater area

I'm not sure where to get started so I thought I would first ask for a dr recommendation in the clearwater area. anyone have someone in mind?

Hi, Well I don't have any suggestions for the Clearwater area, however I thought I might suggest Dr. Murr and Dr. Gallagher at Tampa General.  They both did my surgery August 2006 and I couldn't be happier with my results and with the care I received. Good luck with you journey.

First do you have Insurance or will you be Self-Paying? Next do you have a Primary Doctor or is this who you are searching for? Then there are several Surgeons in Tampa Bay. Have you've looked under Bariatric Surgeons, at the top left of this OH Webpage? In Clearwater there is 2 Surgeons at Morton Plant, 1 at Mease Countryside and 3 Surgeons at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St.Petersburg. The Palms as well as Tampa General carry the "Centers of Excellence" Award. Which is required if your going through any type of Medicare Program.  You'll do best to contact each Surgeon's Office to find out when their next Seminars are schedules. i would strongly recommend dr richard gordon he is in largo that is not far from you  he was going to do my surgery   but they are very v ery nice there and are very compassionate and puts all of the patients health issues first  they didnt do mine because i am bipolar and they were afraid that i would have some issues  but they are who i would recommend

I am also bipolar. Was that the sole reason they denied you? I was hoping this wouldn't be an issue.  I am thinking of the gastric bypass or lapband. As this is what my insurance covers.

Drs. Gordon and Gonzalvo in Largo are a great team with  an excellant program and a fantastic staff (Chris is Da Bomb).  You can't go wrong with these guys.  Please check them out, I highly recommend them.

I live in Seminole but I went to Tampa and had Dr. Murr do my surgery at Tampa General. I would highly recommend him!

I had Dr. Fernandez in Town and Country but he has now moved to the Brandon Hospital.  Great bed side manner and is a super surgeon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Go see one of his seminars. Everyone really likes him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Gail
