YOu are correct regarding COBRA. The employer can set policy on when someone qualifies for insurance but cannot set rules regarding availability of COBRA.

WHEN I WAS FIRST PUT ON COBRA, I HAD NO NOTIFICATION OF BEING ON IT, BUT WHEN I CALLED BC THEY TOLD ME THAT I WAS ON IT, DO YOU THINK I SHOULD GET SOME KIND OF NOTIFICATION THAT IT'S COMING TO AN END?

Sorry for the delay responding. Most states require employers to provide 18 months on COBRA. I'm not sure you will get a notice to that effect. You would just ask for coverage and it would be denied. Call the insurance company and ask them exactly how much longer you are eligible to participate. That's the best way to know
