I'm five days post op and most things are going prettty well.  I am battling gas pain!  Any suggestions?  It seems to move all through my body and not just my lower intestines.  Very painful around G-tube site.

Oh Debra I FEEL your pain! That was the worst part of my surgery so I know just what you are going through! It's terrible. I had no pain other than that darned gas pain. You can use Gas-X strips that dissolve on your tongue. What also helped for me was just getting up and walking. The more I walked the more it passed.

Debra I am right there with you.  I had lap band with Dr Jawad on friday and everything is great except the gas pains in my shoulder blades!  I am walking ect but still very sore.  I can't walk alot because I am tired because I can't sleep!!

I had RNY Full Gastric on Tuesday.  I found that it wasn't hard to walk after a couple of days but standing upright was difficult.  I walked hunched over for a while.  Try to keep stretching those abdominals.   It will get better.  I tried not to overuse my Loritab for pain but I do make sure that I take a dose around 10pm.  It does help me sleep.    The gas pain does move out of your shoulder blade somewhat but right now, it is so sore around the g-tube.  It feels like a fist under my skin.  Most other pain is minimal except gas pain and g-tube.  I go to have my staples out tomorrow at the Ocala office.

Congrats on being on the losing side!!  Even at 3 years out..gas is a problem LOL...but walking always seems to help. It was hard in the beginning but baby steps at a time.  Best of luck to you.

Call your surgeon. Most post-ops get relief from walking and Gas-X, depending on if it is surgical gas or intestinal gas.

Feel better soon!
