atlanta event

HELLO EVERYONE IT WAS NICE SEEING SOME OF MY FLORIDA OH FRIENDS AND WAS NICE MEETING NEW ATLANTA FRIENDS. I LIKED DR. OVERCASH HE SURE IS TO THE POINT NO SWEETNER ON HIS CEREAL.(LOL..HEHEHEE) BUT HE IS A GREAT DR SURE SOUNDS LIKE HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT! THE WHOLE THING WAS GREAT. I JUST DON'T THINK THAT THEY SHOULD DO THE GIVE AWAYS THE WAY IT WAS DONE I THINK THE THINGS SHOULD BE GIVEN AWAY BY THE NUMBERS ON THE TICKETS, SO EVERYONE HAS THE SAME CHANCE,BUT THATS JUST MY VIEW. HOPE TO EVERYONE AGAIN IN THE NEAR FUTURE. 

Hi - I was also in Atlanta - sorry I didn't meet you! I loved everything BUT Dr. Overcash. I went and spoke with him after his talk and he told me that my surgeon - Dr. Kim in Orlando - does proximal and leaves a bigger opening and that I will more than likely not reach my goal weight and will re-gain 30% of what I lose. How unmotivating! He really made me feel horrible. I wish I had never talked to him afterwards. If it had been a different surgeon, the talk would have been very different.  No offence to Dr. Overcash's patients - I have no doubt that he is a very skilled surgeon - but to tell someone that is three months post op that they will not reach goal and will re-gain is a crappy thing to do. And the majority of Dr. Kim's patients do very well several years out. Believe me, I checked.  Anyway, that rant wasn't directed at you, just at the situation. I think it would have been cool for OH to have some kind of a thing where people from different states got together so they would have met each other. Maybe next time.

HEY MARLI, I GLAD THAT U POSTED! I MUST HAVE SEEN YOU I ALSO WENT TO THAT MEETING WITH DR OVERCASH. HE HAS ME SO WORRIED I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I AM 15 MONTHS POST OP AND HAVE LOST 251 POUNDS AND I STILL HAVE ABOUT 20 TO MAKE TO MY GOAL WEIGHT, NOW I AM SO WORRIED I WON'T MAKE IT I AM READY TO CALL FOR A APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THAT SOMACH THING THAT HE WANTS TO DO,WITH MY SURGEON...I AM THE LADY THAT SAT IN THE BACK OF THE ROOM IN HIS MEETING AND ASKED ABOUT IF HE DID CHILDREN. SORRY I DIDN'T GET TO SAY HI. MAYBE THE NEXT FLORIDA EVENT WILL BE ABLE TO MEET. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I AM ALSO AFRAID THAT I MIGHT BE (RIDING THE WAVE) I NEED TO START EATTING MORE HEALTH... Hi Sherry - I didn't go to his break out session - I spoke to hime before lunch in the front of the main room. After that conversation I had no desire to go to his break out session just to be told again that I will fail. Ugh. I do't care if I never speak to that man again. LOL!  You have lost 251 pounds - that is AWESOME!! Truly amazing. Don't let him put doubt in your head. He put it in mine too, but I was able to put it out the next day.

I am loving Riding The Wave - Bo was so great! We just have to be aware that waves crash. I already weigh every day. I don't see that changing. If I see a pound or two creep back on, I will loce them before it gets out of control. Every time I ever fained weight back it was because I stopped weighing and was living in denile - you know - wearing clothes that were too tight, but fooling myslef into thinking it was all OK simply because I could still zipper them! LOL!

The two day events include the Friday evening M&G the all day Conference, a Saturday evening dance and Sunday breakfast with ending speakers and give-aways. That would be AWESOME!!!!! Sorry I didn't get to meet all these FLA people that were there!

yes i did see you and fatima there i said hi but i don't think you heard me! the seminar was just as you have already written. i did go to the meeting with dr overcash yes he is straight forward! but he didn't afend me in anyway. the lunch was great. just not many vendors. i am glad you had a chance to talk to bo and sherri about you haveing the seminar for 2008 in tampa. it sounds like you have it pretty well under control. i will try to make it to your meet and greet. have a good week. 

I was very disappointed in Dr Overcash and his comments about lapband. Then I decided It was me but then I heard after lunch all the other comments he made so realized it wasnt me. I understand he doesnt like support groups either...Was that not an online support group seminar???  Sorry for venting but he really got to me on a lot of things. But overall..I LOVED THE CONFERENCE! I can't wait til the next one.  Our celebration is Oct 6 but read the thing in Tampa is the weekend before?? Could I get some info on it please? Phyllis

phyllis, thanks for the post. yes he did say during the in room thing that he doesn't beleive in support groups that they use the group to show each other how to cheat!!! oh well he is gone out of my mind. any how the events in tampa is organized by mike so if you email him he can give you all the info...have a good week....
