Just finished my OH Leader training!!!!!

I am SO very psyched! I just finished my OH Leader training and I am officially now a certified OH Support Group Leader!  My good friend Mary J (also my Weight Loss Surgery Angel) and I are starting a support group for Hernando and Pasco County. OH is wonderful with their training and help with running the groups and have lots and lots of resources for us to make our group fantastic! I hope all you Pasco and Hernando county people will come on out and join us!! We will be meeting in Hudson at the Hudson Library on Wednesday, September 19th from 7PM - 8:30 PM. If you need directions or have any questions please drop me a line. We have some great ideas for our group and can't wait to get started!

Well that's great news and I'm happy everything worked out so you could attend the All Day Training and complete it in time for your first OH Support Group Meeting plus the Walk From Obesity! Just a tidbit here, I'm hoping ALL of the Tampa Bay OH Leaders will make the "Walk From Obesity" as well as all of our Florida OH Family. To show Tampa Bay's Walk Host and a National Sponsor of ObesityHelp. "Journey Lite" for Life.  That OH'ers are serious in helping others! As we - Obesity Help & myself are approaching Journey Lite is Sponsoring the 2008 OH Conference to hopefully be help in Tampa Bay. With at least a one day event but I'm hoping for a TWO DAY OH Conference with extra events included. Tentative plans are for March or April, 2008........................ We had a Blast this weekend in Atlanta and will post shortly a summary of the weekend. Mike

Mike, thats great to hear that there will be a conference in Tampa next year, I know how hard you worked to get one this past year, but it ended up in Orlando instead.  Let me know if there's anything I can do to help out, even though on on the "right" coast, I'll do what I can.  I think it would be important to push this on as many men as possible.  Be well, and update your profile for God's sake man!!!!!!! THAT IS GREAT! I WAS ALSO GOING TO DO MY TRAINING YESTERDAY, BUT I WENT TO THE ATLANTA EVENT SO I WILL BE DOING MY NEXT MONTH. Sherry you are going to LOVE the training!  I can't believe how fast the time flew by. The training manuals they will email you in PDF format are fantastic too.  Cathy Wilson does and amazing job in the training and makes it really fun and VERY interesting. I was actually dreading spending a Satruday on the telephone. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. I am so glad I whined to here on this board about not having any support groups in our area. Mike Eak was quick to pick up on it and suggested I start my own! So my friend Mary J and I decided to do just that!  We are very excited... our first meeting is the 19th! Do you already run a support group or are you getting one going? Where is/will it be?

Marianne, Frank Breiden became a Leader last month but was hiking up on the Blue Ridge over this last weekend (pre-Conference announcement planned) or he would've been at the Conference too. But he lives in Riverview and when Sherry becomes a Leader they'll lead a group between them down that way.  Also over the weekend I met Steve of "On a Shoestring" a running & walking specialty store in Bradenton who during the Seminars via Laptop has applied to become an OH Leader for down there. There is a group meeting between Sarasota & Bradenton but they don't respond to my invitations. And I'm in the process of Inviting others to. So if you find anyone interested.......... Or even if your SG attendees just want to take the Leadership training also just for their own motivation that's ok too! 

REALLY Mike!??  OH offers the leadership training for NON leaders too? That is terrific and I can REALLY see why people would want to and VERY much benefit from it! I will pass that along next week at our meeting. We havn't gotten much feedback on attendance. Only heard from 3 people who are interested in coming. We're going to get the word out to the papers this today. Hopefully that will draw some attention. And perhaps there are some here who just havn't spoken up but may show up. I hope so! I'm sure it will be slow to start but over time word will get out I'm sure. We're going to be a really great group with LOTS of great fun, info and inspriation! I can't wait to get started!

HEY MIKE, THAT IS THE MEETING THAT I ATTEND THE ONE IN BRADENTON AT THE LIBRARY, WITH SHERI JACOBS, THEY DO A WONDERFUL JOB, I WILL BE SEEING THEM TOMORROW NIGHT AT OUR MEETING. WHAT KIND OF INVITATION ARE YOU GIVING THEM SO I CAN NICELY SEE WHY THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED? DO U KNOW HAS FRANK FOUND A PLACE YET? I HAVE EMAILED HIS PERSONAL EMAIL TO ASK IF I COULD HELP HIM WITH ANYTHING BUT HE HAS NOT RETURNED MY EMAILS???I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF HE HAS HAD HIS FIRST MEETING OR NOT. I AM SURE YOU MUST KNOW, WHERE THE MEETING IS BEING HELD,DAY, TIME, PLACE? OK TALK TO U LATER.
