Sarah sweetie, I don't even know what I have told you about the LBL. I'll give a rundown here..... surgery Jan 25, 2007- no problems except very low blood count so I ended up getting a unit of blood before I left the hospital- stayed 4 nights instead of 5 so that was good. Was recovering well- had 6 drains that they took out two at a time over several weeks. About 2-3 weeks after the last drain came out, I went to the toliet - after I finished but before I got up, I heard something making drips in the water- looked down at the incision above the pubic area and saw a river of yellow/red gook coming out. I went through lots of tissue and two washclothes before I just got an old bowl and let it drain- we emptied the bowl 6 times before I went to bed at midnight- it had started about 8pm. Called the doctor but since no fever, did not go in untll 8 days later when I had an appointment- at that point, I was going through about 10 large bandages a day (by the way, this started the day before mom's fall)  I ended up with the doctor taking a culture and opening it wider to put in whicking material which we had to change twice a day. Eventually it closed up but a few days later, one opened on my side then the front one reopened. I have not gone more than 4 days in a row without one being open. On June 28th a stitch actually came to the surface and we pulled it out- it was still whole- the knot in it and everything- on August 26th another came to the surface and again, we pulled it out- the abdominal opening has been open this whole time- it is starting to close now but I can feel other "eggs" coming up which means one will come to the surface soon unless they get it out 1st on Wednesday. The surgeon has been very careful the who time but neither of us wanted in go in unless we had too- now we have too!  I wanted so badly to talk to you about everything with mom but again, I had lost my phone the end of March so I did not have your number. After the funeral, it just hurt too bad to talk to anybody who I care about - I could talk to strangers without crying but talking with a friend had me bawling now, somethimes I can talk about it and sometimes I can't - just thinking she will be be here for my 40th this year and Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years - it's just very hard. Thank God for Xanax!! Talk to you soon! Terri

Tami,  Nice to see your smile. We did get to use hospice for mom for that last 4-5 days and it was a blessing. Thanks for the prayers, Terri

Hi Ruth,  Nice to see you are still hanging around!! I am just trusting God about this next surgery- the complcations from the last one have changed my priorities- the rest of the truly cosmetic stuff just has so little meaning for me now- Jacob, who just turned seven told me that surgery means I can't play with him and I can't do it unless I really, REALLY need it. You're absolutely right..."hanging around" LOL.. I'm doing okay..just experiencing some weird pains recently after they had stopped almost a year ago. I'm having an endoscopy tomorrow..the GI doc thinks it might be stone related (even though I don't have a gallbladder) but I just hope they find something so I can stop having these gut wrenching pains!! I had labs done and everything looks GREAT also a CT so I don't know what the heck is going on.  I'm crossing my fingers so that tomorrow will be a "success".

I can't wait for me to do a arm reconstruct & TT..but that will be someday when the $$ is available. For now I grin and bear it..so best of luck and hopefully this will be  distant memory.

Hugs

Terri! HEY THERE!!! I am so glad to see you back online!  I have worried about you ladybug! I have even drove past your house a couple of times but didn't want to just show up at your door.  I have emailed you a few times and thought you just didn't like me anymore.  LOL!  Anyway...I was wondering about plastics and how that came out.  Sorry that you have had so many problems with it.   I did read the obituary for your Mom in the newspaper but again I was leery about just dropping by.  I'm sorry that I didn't make a better effort to get in touch with you.  Please know that I was praying for your family though. I will email you off the board and give you my phone number but I just wanted to say Hi!  I miss you girl! My email is [email protected]  Kat
