Liquid Diet Sucks
I am now 9 days post-op and can't find anything to eat on this full liquid diet. I don't like anything I try. Not a huge oatmeal fan, but ate it this morning. So sick of soups, protein drinks, etc. I know that I am not getting my water and protein intake as I should be. Help! Any suggestions? How long were you on the liquid diet before progressing to soft foods?
So sorry to hear of your troubling times. And I know all surgeon's are different. I couldn't leave the hospital till I could prove I could eat solids but again I had the Roux-en-Y. Are you eating the Sugar Free Jellos?

so eat! soft eggs, cottage cheese, FF refried beans with cheese) eat soft foods........ I could not then or now tolerate protein shakes...(I tried them all)..... just eat a tiny bit and see how it goes.. I was on a liquid diet for 1 day after getting out of the hospital , I have told others just like you the same thing... remember 1 oz is the aprox size of an ice cube. I used an empty ..LOL ice cube tray to measure (at first) eat with a small or toddler spoon.. put your food in a pretty small dish and take your time... you will be fine

Ali, we all had to do it and you can do it, too. Don't you dare move your diet ahead faster than you're supposed to or I will tell on you. (grin)
Seriously, treat this as a game and enjoy your journey. It's important that you be compliant and heal and get in tha****er and protein. Experiment and check out BariatricEating.com's recipe for the most fabulous vanilla egg custard EVER!! If you can't enjoy that, you really do have taste issues!!! It's wonderful.
Hugs, it will get better. Promise!
I agree with Jan. This is just a stage you have to go through. So stick to it,grin and bear it and enjoy the weight loss that comes from it. Your body needs time to heal, so follow you docs instructions! Remember, we can never go back to all our old habits and eat everything we ate before....life is new now, so we will have to go through lots of blibs like this....but there is nothing that tastes as good as thin feels1
blessings, Tami
A little late, but let me tell you what is working for me. I had lapband in May and with each fill I have those 2 days of liquids only again. I got myself a $14.00 slushie maker and it has been my life saver. I make my favorite, lemon berry just about daily. It is something that has to be eaten slowly with a spoon and fills you up. I have made them mostly with crystal light to go packs.
Good luck and stay true. Nora
