Any one in the Tampa/Sarasota area??
Oh HELL its you! Are you stalking me? LOL No I had no idea! I knew there was a page but when I would go to it the format was nothing like this and the topics were not in any kinda of order so you might be looking at something from 3 months ago it was really weird so I never went there then BAM I found this which is just like out LB board!
Hi Carla ~
I just read your post. I don't live close to you - still in the Tampa Bay area, but way north in New Port Richey. What tugged at me was that you moved FROM Colorado to come here!! I am wanting very MUCH to do the opposite! We go to CO several times a year, and ideally, (or when we hit Lotto!), we will sell our home here, buy a home in CO - Boulder area - and get something very small here in this area to visit just a couple months out of the year. I absolutely love Colorado. You must miss it terribly!
Anyway, I just wanted to say "hello" and welcome to FL.

Hi Terri,
Ya know what provoked me to move here is that I have family here. I lived in the Denver area for 24 years and it was getting to be little Chicago. I was getting tired of the rat race the high prices, and the people getting rude.
I was living in Chicago for the winter last year and that did me in. I was cold all the time and I hated the cold, wind, snow and the weather. Denver was the worse I have seen it in 24 years.
I got mad and put our house on the market, packed it up, Packed up our RV and our truck and a U-haul and came down here and rented our cousins house. I got a job at Great Clips and we will see how it goes.
Maybe in 2 years I will go back parttime and rent a small apartment for 3 to 6 months there and be here 6 months. We will see. I do miss my friends there though.
boulder is getting to yuppy for me. I love to go there to look around though. I wouldnt live there. Prices are to high and to many college kids around.
No I dont miss Colorado. I miss my friends. But life goes on!!!!!
Thanks for saying hello. Carla
LOL I'm actually from Chicago - lived there the first 30 years of my life! I guess maybe you're onto something here - a Chicago/Colorado connection. I wouldn't move back to Chicago because what I miss, the nostalgic part, is gone - I grew up in farm country and it's now all developed. No thanks. The weather here was okay for the first year or two but for me anyway, it got old fast. Like you, I have friends and family at home which for me is in Chicago, but I would never move back there.
It's always good to try something new if you can, and I hope it works out for you here. In the mean time, I'll keep my Rocky Mountain dreams alive and continue to go as often as I can, and maybe someday, reside there at least part time.

Terri,
I go to Chicago pretty often. My Child lives there and I have a new great Nephew So I go about every 3 months or so.
But I wont go in the winter now. AS I got rid of most of my winter clothes.
Dont get me wrong I love Colorado and we still have our RV there. So I will go back but not right now.
Plus I have to go back at least once a year or twice a year to see my surgeon. I signed a contract with him for follow ups as I am in a 10 yr study he is doing.
