Moving to Boynton Beach area

We are in the process of moving to Boynton Beach. Are there any support groups in that area?

Hey Liz, hows it going?  I live in Boynton Beach myself.  I know there are support group meetings at a couple of hospitals here, one at Bethesda and one at JFK.  I've never been to either one.  The one I go to meets twice a month at the Renfrew Center, about 15 miles south of Boynton Beach.  Thats good for me since I work in Ft. Lauderdale, so its halfway between my house and work.  When are you moving here?  Feel free to write if you need any other help and welcome to South Florida.  We've got some of the best beaches here. John - Do you know the details on the ones at Bethesda and JFK?  You look awesome and love your cat! I too am a cat person.

Know, dont know much about them, though I am going to the one at Bethesda in September, I believe it's on Thursday the 6th, I'll confirm and let you know.  Are you going to be moved here by then?  Thanks for the complement, I feel great too. John

I'm sorry Calico, I thought you were Liz, I'm getting everybody mixed up, been a long day.  I think both hospitals have websites with info you could check out.  The one at Bethesda is run by the same women who runs the one I attend at Renfrew, great person.  Where do you live? John

I am interested in finding a support group, as well.  I had my surgery 6/27/07 in LA, but I live in Coconut Creek. Are the support groups open to anyone - or did you have to have the surgery at the facility hosting them?  Also, does it matter what type of surgery a person had? Thanks.  Where is the Delray Medical Center?

Marino, see my posts above.  I believe most are open to all.  I know the one at Renfrew is, and is probably the closest to you.   Not sure where Delray Med. is, they should have a website you can check out.  Good luck. John

Delray Medical is in Delray Beach, North of Boca Raton.  Turnpike to Atlantic Ave in Palm Beach County, get off an head East to Military and then South to Linton (Right on Military), make a Right and the hospital is on your left.  They welcome anyone and everyone!
