Possibly relocating to Florida

Hi Everyone,  Some of you may know me if you post on the RNY board, I am from NY and I had open RNY a little over 3 months ago. I have been down in Florida (Naples) for about a month know staying at my moms who lives here. I may possibly be relocating down here, and would need to find a bariatric surgeon here to take care of me and in case of any problems down the line. I know some surgeons will not take you on as a patient if they did not do your surgery, but I actually found two that would as long as I get my complete records from my surgeon in NY. Dr Raul Rosenthal and Dr Michael Perez I believe are their names. They are both located on the east coast but it's only about an hour and a half to two hours away. I am curious if anyone here has used either of these doctors, and would like to hear anything anyone can tell me about their experience with either doctor. Thanks in advance.

Kali

If you are talking about Naples, my surgeon is Mark Liberman. He was trained by Rosenthal and practices in Naples at Physicians Regional. 239 348-4000. I also have a PCP who should be able to assist. Her name is Patricia Sullivan and she also is quite competent. She is also at Physicians Regional 239-348-4000. East Coast (if you decide on the Weston/Lauderdale area) I think the best of the bunch is Rosenthal. Any questions, just ask away. We are all here to help you.

Where in Naples is Physicians Regional hospital? My mother lives in North Naples and the only hospital she is familiar with is North Collier Hospital. Can you tell me anything about Dr Liberman and the hospital? Is it a center of excellence? Kali

Sorry for the delay replying. Physicians Regional is the Cleveland Clinic at exit 107 off I 75. It is on the northeast corner. It is not a center of excellence which I believe is a medicare designation. Search Dr. Liberman on this site and you will find reviews, etc. He is an extremely competent surgeon -- doing all types of gastric surgery not exclusively WLS. There is a fairly good sized support group (around 12-14 off season going to about 25 during season. He did my surgery 1 year ago tomorrow and knock on wood, I haven't had any problems.

Hi Kali,   I go to Dr. Perez in Ft. Lauderdale.  He is really nice.  I will be having the gastric sleeve done next Friday the 31 of August.  I live in Jupiter so I am about 1.5 hours north of this doctor.  I am really glad that I chose him as I went to two other doctors and were not happy with them or there staff.  I find his staff very nice.  Tracy
