1 week post op
I had my one week follow up appt today and thankfully had my staples removed. I dont know if I am having a reaction the the OR tape or the staples...I have itchy red bumps around each of the staple sites. It is now more irritated since the DR removed them today. But, on a great note, I have lost 20 lbs since my pre-op appt!

You go, girl. I'm so proud of you. You are doing just fine.
The itchy red bumps are pretty normal and its from the staples, I think. And the cream should be okay but I'd also call the doc's office and double check. Better safe than sorry.
I hope I see you tomorrow.....if not then, soon.
Keep me posted and let me know if I can answer any questions or help in any way. I'd be delighted to.

Kim what did Dr.J say about your Opening Incision?
I had a Incision open up after they took the staples out. Well my luck was my surgeon was out of the country for a week of Mission/Charity work. And my PCP didn't know what to do but give me antibiotics. Well it got infected anyway and then it had to be cleaned out daily and packed with gauze to heal from the inside outward. Which took 4 months. But all is fine now.
Best of prayers,
Mike

Mike,
Omg, that is horrible!! I can only image how painful that would be. I spoke with them this morning and they told me to put some neosporan on it and cover it with gauze. It is just a small pin hole, so they are hoping that it will begin to heal itself in a few days. I remember when I had my hysterectomy and one of my incisions started to crystalize, that was painful and took forever to heal. Now I have the ugliest biggest scar (bigger than a silver dollar) there that started out about the size of an eraser. Glad to hear that it all worked out ok for you though!!! Thanks Mike.
