Hi! I

Hi Everyone,  I'm Kellie  from Tampa, Fl. I've had my date for about 3 weeks now.. I'm scheduled for a laproscopic roux en y on August 22nd... at Tampa General. I've done a lot of research and talked to a couple of people that have had the surgery.  I'm starting to get anxious, I've been working towards this for so long!  I'm new to this group and would appreciate any advice or feedback that anyone can throw at me. Hey Kellie!  I am about 30 minutes North of Tampa in Hudson and I'm having the RNY lap surgery too! My surgery is 8 days away.. on August 14th. I'm having mine in Clearwater at Morton Plant. Looks like our journeys are on the same track. I'm sure you are as excited as I am. Especially because it's been a long road for both of us. Hard to believe it's almost hear huh? Are you on a pre op diet now?   Let's keep in touch ok? Marianne C.

Kellie- I had a different surgery so I cannot help with that, but I wanted to wish you luck.  I hope your surgery is successful and that you have an easy recovery. Red

Congratulations on your date! My best advice is to do everything that your surgeon (and surgeon's office) tells you to do. Really work to maximize your weight loss during the first 6-12 months. Adopt healthy habits that will be second nature for when the weight doesn't come off as quickly as in the beginning.

I HAD REAL GOOD CARE AT TGH AND FROM DR GALLAGHER STAFF. I AM SURE YOU HAVE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE! I WILL BE KEEPING YOU IN MY PRAYERS. wooow!  thank you ALL for the awesome support. yes, i'm anxious, nervous, excited- all of the above.  My husband is trying to be supportive but he just doesn't understand. He's the type who has a perfect body w/out lifting a finger (ugh).  My dr will be Michele Murr at TGH (gallagher's partner, i believe).  I'm afraid of the whole dumping thing.. that alone is enough to keep me from over eating or eating bad things!  It doesn't sound pleasant.   I have 2 weeks to go and am trying to stay calm - lol. ... borderline manic.. cleaning, getting my  house in order, pulling weeds,kid's rooms cleaned etc.  I guess this is normal? LOL.    I appreciate all of your support!
