Cruising? Think aboat getting....
Chances are nothing will ever happen and thankfully, I've been on five cruises with no medical event. I just started working in the med dept. of a cruise line and the costs of a medical air lift or admission to a hospital outside of the US is exorbitant. Major Bucks! I know I'll never go on another cruise without getting some travel insurance....most employee health care plans do not cover medical care outside of US....or if they do, you have to pay upfront and then get reimbursement.
Also, I notice that dehydration is always a major factor.... so especially for WLS ers....don't forget the water on your cruise.
................having said that, I wish I were going on the cruise in January with you guys!'

See God's track record in your journey,
decide that you will trust Him.
I never cruise without getting the travel insurance. I do it for the reasons you mentioned and the fact that things happen and you never know when something will come up and you'll have to cancel or postpone your trip. Cruises cost too much to take that chance and trip insurance isn't very expensive!!
Also, I highly recomend taking a case of bottled water with you so you'll have plenty to carry & drink when off the ship. Even though we were careful to not drink the local water our sons got sick and the ship doctor said it was probably from the ICE in their soft drinks while visiting the islands. I never thought about the ice being made from local water & it melting into sodas. DUH!! Oh well, live and learn!
