hidden penis

I know this is a subject alot of guys are hesitant to bring up, but I need some help if anybody out there has any info.   I had RNY 2001, down from about 417 to 195, followed by belt lipectomy in 06 after gaining back about 50 lbs.....so about 250.  I still have excess skin/fat on inner thighs...but more than anything else...the weight loss and belt lipectomy have not done anything to help with hidden penis (condition where the penis is of normal size and functions normally but it internal when flacid due to drooping of the pubic fat pad or flaps and hanging scrotum)....I have tried to find a surgeon for this in south florida with very little luck.  Found one in Augusta Georgia, but he's moving to Virginia.  I found one guy in South Floria who seems semi qualified, but can't get insurance to cover this, says it's cosmetic.....Does anyone have any experience with this condition, surgery, coverage by insurance?

Have you tried a consult with a urologist? Who does your insurance company recommend?

Also try posting on the Mens forum and Plastic Surgery forms.

Good luck,

I found a Urologist in Coral Springs, but he is not very familiar with the condition and will "give it a shot".....but definitely not something he is well versed with....insurance company says it's cosmetic and doesn't recommend anyone

Personally, if I had a penis I wouldn't entrust it to someone who would "give it a shot." You are right to be concerned.

A quick visit to mayoclinic.com and urologyhealth.com shows that urologists *should* be aware of the hidden, buried or concealed penis condition. According to the NIH, the surgical procedure will comprise: 1) a longitudinal dorsal incision extended circumferentially; 2) resection of the thickened fascia penis; 3) anchoring of the deep face of the dermis to the proximal part of the fascia penis at the base of the penis. This surgical procedure has always brought a significant improvement to the appearance of the penis.

I hope this helps.
