New to Message board & Surgery scheduled

Hello All; My name is Phillis and I am new to the mesage board.  I am excited to be a part of the LOSING FAMILY... I am schedule for a VSG on 8/27/07 with Dr. Keith Kim.  I welcome any advice pre/post surgery.  Looking forward to participating in the message board to encourage everyone today, tomorrow and forever.....

Hi Phillis!  Welcome aboard!  I still have to schedule my surgery, but mine will probably be a couple of weeks after yours!  Sorry I don't have much advice.  I've been slow to commit to the pre-op diet (so burned out on dieting).  I am waiting until we return from vacation on 8/12 to dive into the deep end, so to speak.  I'm interested to know why you decided to go with the VSG.   I'm going with the lap-band, myself, but the VSG seems to be growing in popularity with Dr. Kim's patients. You have a wonderful surgeon, Phillis.  He was working with US Bariatrics at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale when I had my lap RNY 12-15-2003.  You surgery date will be here before you know it....Best wishes as you start this awesome journey. luvitsunnyv

Welcome Phillis, glad to have you here!  I just had my VSG on 7/24 with Dr. Kim.  Everything went  just great and I'm doing good.  His staff is great and helpful, call them anytime.
