Insurance Question.....

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama (through General Electric Company). I am waiting for pre approval and found out yesterday that they need a dated photo from the year 2005 because there are no medical records that verify my weight for that year.  Is there anyone who has had this request or know of anyone? I am wondering what they mean by "dated".  Would a date that is imprinted from the camera on the photo be what they are looking for? They told me that simply writing the date on a photo is not sufficient and yet they would not elaborate... they simply kept stating "we need a dated photo".  Anyone ever heard of this request from insurance? I have never heard of a Request such as this, asking for a picture. Which most pitures pre-digital did not come with printed dates on them. You could take one to a Photo Shop such as Ritz and they might be able to make a copy with a 2005 date printed on it. Post your request on the Alabama Forum as there'd be more General Electric Employees - Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Alabama members there. Do you have any Medical records prior to 2005 stating that you've had a Weight Problem?  Good Luck, Mike

Hey Mike! Funny you should be writing to reply to my message  because last night I spent a good deal of time reading your profile and looking at your photo journey. My lord! Look at you and your progress and the life you have back compared to before surgery. I mean that is just amazing! Congratulations just doesn't cut it either. Your sucess gives me chills.  I like your idea of posting a message on the Alabama forum! Great idea! BCB S has all of the medical recorded weights from every year they need excpet 2005 and I know I don't have any for that year. I had a lot going on that year and I ignored my health and never went to a doctor at all. So I need some prayers that the photo I sent them will be what they need and I will get an approval soon. My surgery date has already been tentatively set for August 13th and as long as i get that approval by early next week, I should be on the losing bench very soon.  Thank you so much for your reply and idea about the Alabama board. -Marianne C.

Do you have any "official" type photos that were taken in 2005 ie driver's license, passport, military ID, school photo or maybe even a badge at work?  That may be what they are looking for.

Better yet...take a pic but change the date in the camera to have it show an earlier date.  I am not a sneaky person but last Christmas i changed the batteries in my camera and all the pics show 2003 on them LOL I haven't heard this request either.
