Tina, the Stomaphyx is considered a "revision" but instead of  being cut again and redone - the procedure is done endoscopically. Right now only Dr. William Todd Overcash in Ocala is one of the 5 doctors that was taught the procedure. He has already done about 10-15 thus far, and will be conducting a seminar in the Ocala area to speak more about the procedure since it was just approved by the FDA in February. Call his office at 352-368-2828 and get the details of the seminar as one has to register to attend. Best of luck to you!

The FDA does not approve surgical procedures.  The FDA however does approve equipment.  Perhaps there is some new equipment that has recently been approved.

I'm not aware of WHAT was approved only that "it" was approved by the FDA. Perhaps it is the sutures which are the plastic type, and or the process of sewing the new pouch.  If you're interested call the office at (352) 368-2828 to find out what the FDA approved.
