Moving To FL

Hi All, I am a post op RNY patient who is going to be movigng soon to FL with my partner.  We are looking to move near the Tampa area and I am looking for suggestions as to a dr that I can transfer my records to and keep up with my post op care.  I have not had any complications but of course no one knows what the future will bring.  I am also looking for maybe a local support group.  Of course we have not moved yet and I am still located in PA but the plans are to go to Tampa so if anything changes in the future I will update. Hi Jen, I live in St. Pete just south of Tampa Bay.  Dr. Scott Gallagher and Dr. Michel Murr did my surgery at Tampa General Hospital.  They are both University of South Florida Surgeons, I can't say enough good things about their practice.  Dr. Gallaghers office number is 813-844-7540 I know Dr. Murr's is a different extention but they are in the same practice together.   They also have monthly postop support groups at Tampa General which I have been attending since surgery almost a year ago.  Susan is Dr. Murr's Bariatric Coordinator and she heads up the support groups both pre and post op. Hi Jen, I am new to this site. Have been to a seminar, one support group meeting, had my first Dr. appt. and have scheduled my psych appt.. We are originally from PA, and now live in Bradenton, FL, just south of Tampa. I work as a nurse in the OR, and know of 3 surgeons here in Bradenton. Hi Linda, I just moved to Bradenton. But I am in Colorado finishing up the moving process. I should be down there permenantly July 29th or so. I applied for a job in the ER at Manatee Memorial Hospital in the Admissions Depatrment. I did that kind of work for 25 years. I am also a Cosmetologist that I just graduated in October and waiting for my liscense to come thru. I had my surgery 5 years ago and have lost 155 pounds. Carla Klein

Do you where abouts in Tampa/Tampa Bay your moving to? It's a large area with many outlaying cities/towns. And many Surgeon's and a few Support Groups through the hospitals and  couple of OH Support Groups with a few more in the training process right now too. Would you consider becoming an OH Leader and starting your own OH Support Group? Let us know when you get down here. Were in our rainey season right now too plus the Hurricane Season. Were thinking of putting a "Meet & Greet" together shortly, maybe at Busch Gardens or Cypress Gardens. You just missed the Florida OH Conference but the Georgia OH Conference is Sept.8th in NorthEast Atlanta (Norcross), GA. Mike

Hi All, I just wanted to give an update on my move,  It looks like my partner and I are looking to move to the Clearwater area.  My last day at work is the 30th and I plan on being in Florida by the 1st or 2nd (depending on how slow we drive LOL may be stopping at the tourist trap south of the Border and not heard from for a WEEK!!!!).  I have an appointment with my surgeon the 21st which will be good cause that will cover my 4 month bloodwork and everything.  Looking foward to moving to the Sunshine State and meeting anyone close!!! How close is that to Largo?  I know when I look on Careerbuilder.com and Monster it sends me job listings from Largo.

I have an address Yipee.  I will be in Clearwater for sure.  I just found the post for the support group in Pinellas County at the Largo Mall on the 17th.  I plan on being there if at all possible.  My partner keeps telling me you can't really get lost in Fl so I should be able to find you LOL.
