Pre-Op on Wednesday

Well, I am finally going to do it.

I am finally pulling the trigger on plastic surgery. Although I am saving for abdominoplasty this fall (when I turn thirty-ten), I am going to start by getting the girls lifted, separated and augmented. It is so ironic because I had a breast reduction when I was 15, all to be more competitive for my sport.

Tonight DH and I looked through some, um, *modeling* magazines and I think that I decided upon my "dream girls." Oh, I know that the models themselves don't look that good, but I would be happy if I could look, well, *not* look deflated. But still, I can't help but feel a little vain.

I am a little nervous. Surgery is July 20th. I'd love to hear from anyone who has been augmented. I was back to work after my RNY (and heart surgery) within a week. I am (foolishly?) expecting to have surgery on Friday, and be back at work on Monday. Am I expecting too much?

Thank for letting me vent. It feels a little more "real" now that I have let the cat out of the bag to my OH family.

Maybe your healing time is different but the friends that I have that have had breast augementation are not able to go back for at least a week.  But you seem like you heal fast since you were back to work in a week after heart surgery.

Yikes! I hope not a week. Maybe I should take Monday off? It sure does suck to be a workaholic!!

Kristen, Congrats on your decision to go forward with your plastic surgery!  I'm very excited for you.  While I haven't actually BTDT yet, I worked for a plastic surgeon for a few years, and counselled patients post-op.  Also, my mother was augmented 25 years ago, and her silicone implants are still going strong.  I know I'll be undergoing mastopexy and abdominoplasty myself after WLS.  Heck, I needed both before I ever got fat!!  LOL You'll probably feel like you did after your breast reduction.  Depending on whether they are going under or over the chest muscle, you may be sore for a couple of weeks, and unable to lift your arms for a week or two.  As with the reduction, you'll have to wear a jogbra type support day and night for a few weeks.  You can probably be back to work within a week.  If you can do it in three days, you're a trooper!  You may be okay as long as you don't have to lift anything, but it may hurt to drive yourself there for a few days. HTH Jen

Hey Jen!! Long time no see!

Driving...yeah, I have a 45-minute commute to work. Forgot about that. I'll have to think a little bit more about that now.

Thanks much for your input!

That's super! That's cute about you and your DH "shopping" in the mags. for your "dream girls" - I would of never thought about doing that. Mine already sag, practically to my waist, I guess from the consent weight loss and gain, so they just have to sag some more when I loose this weight.  After having to pay for the WLS, my Victoria Secret's are just going to have to work overtime to further support me for a while.  The "saddlebags" will be the first thing to go for me   Take Care!
