As Marli already answered, just be yourself and be honest. Since three different assessments are used (plus a counseling session), you don't want to invalidate the results by trying to be someone you are not. Dr. Ferguson will always tell you before you leave what to expect. I really appreciate her work because she has had the surgery herself, and is really up on bariatric surgery- and food-specific issues. Not all psychologists have the same in-depth experience.
When is you appointment? Stop by the USBO office and say hi!!
Take care,
Kristen
Hi Ali... Sorry I missed your post until today. You can't help but LOVE Dr. Ferguson...so-to-speak. She's very thorough, very up front with information, and as others have said, she will tell you just like it is, and she expects you to be open, honest and frank with her. She will do a comlete evaluation of your current state-of-mind, fears, expectations, etc. Don't worry about whether she will "fail" your or "pass" you. Her job is to be frank with you about what you're going into, and to possibly point out any potential pitfalls she might see in your journey. Believe me, if she were going to "fail" any psych case coming through her office, I'd have been sent on my way almost before sitting down!! Be yourself, be honest, and she'll provide you with a rewarding evaluation. She's been down this road herself, and she'll show you a really nice picture of her dog, sitting on the lap of her former self....you won't believe what you see. She's just great...and have a great visit with her....
