"I would like all patients - old and new to register in our new bariatric database. It is absolutely safe and private, and it will give us a lot of information. It may take some time because you have to update or give your medical history, etc. You can can journal, keep a food diary, etc once you're registered.                     The link is: www.munroeregionalbariatrics.remedymd.com Please pass along this information to all. Thank you. Dr. Overcash

Did I do something wrong?  I went thru the whole process and then found out it was $125 a year or $200 for a lifetime.  Is that right? I'm so excited about Dr. Overcash and the new revision procedure.  I was hoping to log in there to keep up with the news on that surgery and be able to track my own progress as well. I'm not a patient of Dr. Overcash but have members of my support group who are and wanted to take advantage of this new "tool" if I could.  Maybe the charges were because he's not my surgeon? Please let me know if I've done something wrong or if there really is a charge for this service. Thanks for your help. La Wanda

Nope..I was a patient and have to pay, I won't.   I filled out the info and then asked for me to pay, was like no thanks.  Now I am getting mails from them and I can't read unless I pay. I am glad I don't need this service.

I know Tracy I got the same thing. Just fill out the medical history, and all those parts up to the payment part. I stopped at the payment part as well and am addressing the issue with Christeena. It is free for us patients of Dr. OC - just have to figure how we get to the free part. Though you may not need to continue to track food diaries and such - it will help his office immensely on the medical part.  We will figure it out Traci.  Let me let them know what's happening. Thanks for the update. Keep you posted!!!

You have done nothing wrong. It is a PAID service but Dr. OC is offering it free to his patients, however I still have to figure the free part. In any case, it seems like it might be worth it to track medical history data, etc to your own surgeon.  The other one that is free is Fitday.com. Yes, Im excited about the new stomaphyx procedure as well. I went to see him to check it out and thankfully it's now for me but it will alot of people I know need resolve. Thanks for writing.

Ruthie!!! How are you???  I am doing well.  I was just over to visit Dr. Overcash on Tuesday and he wrote that web site down for me.  I haven't gone on there yet though.  I haven't seen you on the board much and was getting worried about you.  How are things going for you?   Talk to you soon!   Kat

HI Kathy!!!!! I'm doing "okay"..just been having some weird gastric pains! I had to go to the hospital on Friday from work and they did some tests and found nothing. I have to see a GI doc to determine if I have gastritis or pancreaitis...they are not sure - typical, huh?  Other than that been stressed out at work and trying to deal with that as best I can. I went to see Dr. OC about that new procedure abut I've been maintaining (though I personally wnt to lose 20-30 lbs) but all is well on that end.  Just wanted to let you know that I'll be going to Jacksonville for our group meeting on July 14th at 10am at the Comfort Inn. I'm hoping I will get the chance to meet you then. I will be picking up Margo Marie and you can meet Christeena and others from Dr. OC's group if you haven't met them already. Now how the heck are you?? How is your weight loss going? Keep me posted!! Hugs

Hey Ruthie! It's good to hear from you!  I am sorry that you are having problems.  Hope they figure it all out and get you all fixed up!   I sure would love to go to that meeting!  I am going to check and see if it is the same day as the one I usually go to.  Ahh It isn't!  Maybe I can make it.   My weight loss is going well so far.  I have lost 114 pounds since my surgery and 191 all totaled.  I am wearing a pair of pants tonight that was passed down to me by a fellow WLSer.  I couldn't even get them over my thighs when I had my surgery.  I let my sister borrow them the other day when she got caught in the rain on the way to my house and she said these ought to fit you. I decided to try them on today and guess what?  They are loose on me!   Getting nice WOW moments lots lately!  Man I love those!!!  I used to have to squeeze into the chair or sit on the edge of the chair at all of my doctors offices (except Dr. Overcash) but now I fit!   Oh yeah I've been riding a real bike on the street!!!  Well until I got a blister!  LOL!!! I had to take a brea****il the blister healed but hopefully in a couple more days I can start back riding again.  I don't go very far and the heat really exhausts me but I could barely get on my exercise bike 3 months ago much less a real bike (haven't been on one for probably 25 years or more until a couple of weeks ago).    I asked about the stomaphx  ptocedure so I could bring some info back to my support group about it.  Not much info out there but Doc told me all about it.  I am going to call the office in a couple of weeks and see if they have gotten any printed info on it yet. Ok my dear, I better get going.  I really want to go to church in the morning and I won't get up if I don't get to bed.  I put the meeting on my calendar and will try my best to make it.  A lot of medical stuff going on with family members right now so I never know when I may get called to go to the ER with someone.  I will sure try though.  Take care Ruthie and I hope to see you soon! Thanks for responding Kath!. Yeah, I hope they can figure it out. At the ER they said I had a major UTI though I don't have any symptoms but will take the med/anitobiotic prescribed though Im a bit scared cause the remedy sounds more painful than the solution. But hopefully we'll figure it all out! Im crossing my fingers you'll be able to come out on July 14 at 10ish am to the Comfort Inn. Im soo glad on your weight loss success!! You will have a whole bunch more of the those WOW moments and they are great. Then evenually you will be or feel like "normal" and life goes on. But it is nice to fit in chairs and in the airplane

On the stomaphyx - yes there is not much info since it was just approved in Feburary 07 through the FDA but as time goes on it will be and get more popular. Anywhooooo hope to see and meet you then!! Hugs, Ruthy

Yes Ruthy ! Take the antibiotics!  It is not uncommon to have a UTI and not have any symptoms.  I have them often.  It has gotten to the point they check my urine almost every time I go to the doctor for anything. Is that Comfort Inn the one in Orange Park?  I promise I will try to make it!  I think Stomaphyx will be a Godsend for a lot of people.  I pray that I will never need it but I am happy to know it is available.  OK you get better and hope the docs get to the bottom of your tummy problems soon! Hope to meet you soon too!   Kat
