I HAVE BEEN APPROVED AFTER 2 YRS!!!!!

It has been a long 2 years, but I have been APPROVED  by my insurance BCBSIL as of today thanks to Obesity Law and Kelly Lindstrom!  I feel like I am walking in the clouds.  I can't wait to get scheduled.

OH MY GOODNESS.....I'm so excited.  I KNOW the feeling well of waiting so long and finally getting that call that this is REALLY going to happen.  Congrats to you, my friend.  Keep me posted and let me know if there's anything I can do. The support group is still going strong and you're welcome any time you can get by.  At least stay in touch via email.  I wanna keep track of you and rejoice with you all the way. Okay, so I have scheduled my initial consultation with Dr. Jawad for July 3rd.  I have also scheduled my psych eval, nutrition appt, gallbladder test for next week.  So I will have all this completed by the time I have my Jul 3rd appt with Dr. Jawad.  Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes to get scheduled once this happens???  I am so anxious!  I just cannot wait any longer!!!!  

Oh yeah, to answer everyone's questions...sorry I almost forgot I am so excited!     I have BCBS of Illinois and I originally started this process in 2004.  The insurance of course made me have the 12 months of weight loss visits with my doc....Dr. Butcher in Jax...he is super as well!  Anyway, after the 12 months, I saw Dr. Jawad's staff for my initial consultation and they filed the paper work with BCBSIL in Jan. 06 (this is the second time of filing with BCBS).  They denied my benefit because I had gone the 12 months BUT they weren't CONSECUTIVE!  I had skipped one month due to a death in the family!  Since the skipped month was toward the end of 12 months, I basically had to start all over again.  I did this and went for my second 12 months of visits...They then denied me because I hadn't been on weigh****chers or some "program" like that with clear guidelines.  So Dr. Butcher wrote them a long letter detailing everything we had done over the past 24 months and they then denied me because his details weren't in the correct "format".  This is when I lost it!  I sent my files to Obesity Law & Advocacy Center (Kelley Lindstrom and Walter Lindstrom, attorneys).  They are GREAT and I HIGHLY recommend ANYWHO who needs help with the insurance battle to enlist their services....very well priced also.  Anyway, I asked for their help and not even a month later, I have been approved! I have to start over with the consultation, psych eval, nutrition appt, gallbladder, etc...due to the length of time.  I have all tests scheduled for next week and my consultation for Jul 3rd.  Any ideas how long I should plan to wait for the surgery now?
