BIG MEDICINE ON TLC

Has anyone been watching Big Medicine, it's on at 9pm, TLC Monday nights, it's all about WLS and it's very interesting.

Hi.....I haven't seen it becuz we don't have extended cable but I have heard good things about the program. While I was at my doc's office yesterday one of my new WLS friends was telling me about while we were at eh hospital. She really likes it. Antonette 13 days and a wake up!

I have been watching it, my husband freaks out whenever it comes on.  So, I tend to watch in small spurts after he is asleep.  But it is a great show!!!

Yes, I have been watching it.  It has only had two showings.  I have my DVR set to record it new show.  It was better this week, the 1st week I did not care for the Therapist.  She was really annoying but is better now.  Sandy Wesley

Hey Joanne - Yes, I've been watching it. Dr Lomonaco is the PS who's been on there along with the father and son Team of Dr Davis' (Robert and son Garth) Garth is the head of Bariatric surgery @  Methodist hospital in Texas. PS: They're both listed on this site. Dr Lomonaco is also a featured P/S in TX.  They think I'm nuts to watch the show and how it shows the actual procedures along with the PS - Charlisa a young girl 22 tops who has her TT and Breast lift/aug done on air. Here mother is her biggest support.She's lost 150lbs.  My family refuses to watch it.They think I'm somewhat crazy to actually watch a procedure that I will be undergoing (TT and Breast lift) in a few month (god willing). I just want to be informed. Alan is the Largest patient that they've had. 26 y.o. weighed 1000 and currently he's @ 625. He's bedbound for the last 7 yrs. Sad Sad case. I don't want give alot away but the Dr's are funny, sincere and concerned for their patients.  I love the fact that they are giving a face to WLS. Hopefully people will see that this surgery is definately not an elective procedure.  A Definate must see for anyone contemplating surgery! Barbi

Hi , Im a newbie here, its a little after 3 am here & I acutally jus****ched Big Medicine on tv at midnight & have been crying & praying ever since... I feel such a connection with the people on there. I have battled weight since my early teens & I had a car wreck in 2002 which left me severely disabled which in turn left me severely overweight,  I am in a catch 22 situation right now not being physically able to excercise because of all the weight to be able to get the weight off. And as we all know THATS the KEY...exercise !!  I am hoping to get GB to help me lose the weight enough for me to be able to exercise & keep it off, and hopefully stay out of the dreaded wheelchair that I already spent 3 years of my life in... Im just batteling insurance right now...actually Im going to a seminar held by the surgeon that takes my insurance (medicare) but I feel like I have been spinning my wheels trying to get things in order or preperations for it so I thought maybe they have a liason to help me get started..well anyways Im talking your ear off already LOL ..But did watch the show & I LOVE it ! What an inspiration these people are ! Im SOOO ready !!!
