Hello! I was wondering if any CCH patients have done the sleep apnea test? Mine is set for Thursday and interestingly enough,  it's done at the Marriott a few blocks from the hospital. Stacey

Hi Stacey, I had it done, but it was 3 years ago and was done at Cleveland Clinic.  It was very easy.   Laura

Thanks for your input, Laura! I was surprised that the study is done in a hotel and not in the hosptial, but that's fine with me. I read your profile and you look fantastic! You must feel sooooooooooo good!   I have nothing to say but good things about Dr. Rosenthal and the amazingly nice people I've met at Cleveland Clinic. I'm sorry you had a different experience. Yes, you'll be more comfortable and sleep better in a hotel, I'd imagine.  Have fun with that! Even though my experience with Dr. Rosenthal wasn't very positive, my life since the surgery has certainly improved.  I'm so glad I had it done and, a year after having all the excess skin was removed, it's like having the life I never had.  It's wonderful! Let me know if you have any questions about any of it.  When is your surgery? My email is [email protected] Laura

Hi Stacey: I haven't had my sleep study yet, but my boss had his done at the Marriott.  He says that the hook you up to machines which takes up to 1 hour than they you just do whatever you would do at home.  They monitor you for the entire night. Ines

Hi Ines, Thanks for your reply. Do you think that means I can watch TV or read until I fall asleep? I can't just shut the lights and go to sleep. Did you get a date yet? Stacey

Yes, you can watch TV and read, do whatever you want until you fall asleep.  I am going to see Dr. Ramirez on Monday.  What doctor did you see? Ines

that is cool that you get to have your sleep study done at  motel instead of clinic I had a sleep study In 2001 in Raleigh Nc. I end up with two sleep studys because I was so bad that they came in and put on nasical pads in and I tried to fall asleep for allmost 3 hours I cheaked out at 4 in the morning and went home I was so scared It fellt like I was going to die. My wife made me go back and have my second sleep study and they put on me a different mask I strugled that nite but they were able to get me regulated on a bi level cpap. It was nine months between my first and second study. They sent my study to my primary care doctor and she orderd me my cpap and started useing it at first I strugled and fought the dam thing for all most a month and I got used to it. Now I love It I get the best sleep i ever got for years. I am all most done with my 18 month diet plans in june it will be my 18 month. my surgen will be sending in for per-aproval cant wait. good luck it will be ok.

I had my sleep study done at Cleveland Clinic in Weston about 2 1/2 years ago.I used to live in Pembroke Pines before relocating to Port Charlotte on the West Coast of Florida. It was done in the hospital. They hook you up to a million wires with sticky gooey gel and then tell you to sleep normally while they watch you. A hotel sounds more restful than the hospital. But how will they watch you? I had my surgery August 24 2006 and I am down  145 lbs. It is life altering. I still have about 65 bs to go but it is going very well. Good luck
