Hi all. I love reading posts and hearing all the advice from others and have learned a lot through this process. My husband and I are both having gastric. His surgery is in 10 days and it suddenly hit us both like a ton of bricks that this is real, and happening, and while we both want this surgery we are TERRIFIED of the actual surgery itself. ANy tips from the seasoned vetrans on how to calm those fears. Did everyone feel that way? I am sure we will love our new lives on the flip side of surgery but really just worried if he has a bad expereience recovering that it will be hard for me to turn around and feel safe doing it too... kind of like I am having the surgery twice! Help!

Congratulations and best wishes to your family! Wow, both of you are getting WLS. I suggest that ya'll attend support group meetings in your area. Hopefully, your surgeon has them available for you. Kim Boca Raton, FL

I think its pretty normal to be scared.  I was.  I did my best to treat it like just another day so I wouldn't get overwhelmed.  Good luck to both of you.  I will keep you in my prayers. Hillary
