Anyone have Dr. Richard Gordon at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater Florida?
I recently got some very bad news that my surgeon, Dr. Rodolpho Dy, at Community Hospital in New Port Richey has quit the bariatric program there. I am now moving to the bariatric program at Morton Plant in Clearwater and am looking at both Dr. Richard Gordon and Dr. Gonzalvo. Has anyone had experience with either of these doctors. I have been in touch with the program coordinator, Julie Douglas and also the surgeons office manager Jan and they both seem very professional, organized and helpful. Any information or experiences would be appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi Marianne!
Dr. Gordon did my RNY last November. Excellent choice - I consulted with several surgeons in the Tampa Bay area before choosing him. It was the best choice I could have made - I wrote you a PM with a little more detail! Dr. Gordon's entire team outshines any of the other surgeons and staffs I personally dealt with. Congrats and best of luck to you!

I too had Dr Gordon - May 1st was my surgery. I didn't check out many Dr's in the area because I was very happy with the seminar I attended in which Dr Gordon and Julie ran. I went into that seminar thinking lap band can came out with the decision of RNY because of Dr Gordon and his information. He made me loose a lot of my fears of the RNY by his demeanor and his confidence. Chris is the first person you will see in his office and she is the one who gets you on your way. Definitely try to go to one of his seminars - you should be able to meet him and if Dr Gonzolvo is available he will be there too!
The hospital staff at Morton Plant are excellent too!! I could not have asked for a better hospital stay!
Good luck and maybe someday I will run into you in his office!!
