Medicaid woes

I know I've asked this before, but does anyone know of a doctor in Fl who will accept Medicaid for WLS? It is NOT United Health Care Medicaid, but Medipass with authorization. I've called some of the doctor's offices listed on the posts where the members have said they take Medicaid, but they only take United Health Care Medicaid (HMO). I called Medicaid (area 4 Medipass location in Jax) and was told they cover WLS, but it was up to me to find the surgeon to do it. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

I do not know of anyone who accepts medipass. The surgeons at our hospital accept Staywell only. You can change your medicaid from Medipass to another provider. I would suggest doing this so that you can go forward with WLS. Good Luck! Julie

I have been tryin to get medicaid to cover wls for my 19 yr old daughter. The Tampa General Hospital Bariatric Institute takes , These are all medicaid. Thanks so much for the info, but neither one of them accepts medipass or straight medicaid. I'm still looking.
