WHAT TO DO NOW....

I had the lap band surgery feb 2005. After five months dr jawad ( who was great ) had to remove the band. All because another doctor thought I was having a reaction to the band when I wasn't. It's a long story..... Dr jawad said he would do the gastic bypass instead but since I was at the time 61 years old I said no. Now I regreat my discission. I am now 63 and I am afraid I am to old to do the surgery. Has anyone out there my age had the surgery? Am I to old now? The weight I lost from the lap band is all back on me again. I hate the way I feel now. I need help as what to do. Liz

This is a hard one. Mom you have problems every time you have surgery. :ohoh: but you do need to loose the weight. So I have a solution. :idea: let's go on our diet again together. But we need to stick to it again. Let's choose a date........... :-)

Liz Check with Dr Jawad, He may do the by-pass even if you at 63. He told my group that it depends on the person and he will view it case by case. Several people in my intro group were over 63. They are just starting the process and I do not know how it went for them. I am 54 and thought I was too old for the by-pass but boy was I wrong. Call him.. Sandy W.

Liz, call Dr.Jacobs at Mercy Hospitial in Miami @ 305 285 5090. Talk to someone in his staff about the Verticial Sleeve. Its not as risky as a bypass and when I was at the seminars there was people in their 60's going to get it done. Good Luck. Alan

Of course I totally believe in Dr. Jawad's talent and I would always, ALWAYS go to him first. If HE says you're too old, then you are too old, but I would trust his judgment and return to him as he's the best!

Hello jan, I remember you when I first had my lap band in 2005. I love dr jawad and he did tell me he would do the gastric bypass after he had to take the band out. But at the time I did not want to go through all that you had to at my age. Remember that was two years ago. Now that the weight has come back again I am thinking about calling dr j again. How have you been doing? We met at one of the support meeting in ocala. Remember trisa she had the lap band and just change to the bypass. Thanks for answering. Liz
