Orlando Dilemma!!!

Three of us are planning to go Orlando. We have our hotel reservations and are all set. The problem is that I want to go to the M&G on Friday night because I took the day off Friday..BUT...my friends have to work Friday and will be able to drive up Friday night. I guess need to find someone to hitch a ride from Ft. Luderdale with. Also..how far is the Best Western from the hotel. If I do get a ride up to Orlando..is it within walking distance for me to get to the M&G from the Best Western? Does anybody know? Thanks Toni

Toni, check with Paula http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/miniplk/ She is coming up from Ft.Luaderdale, Friday morning. She works for Dr.Shuster, the Sponsor of this Conference. The Best Western is ditectly across the street from the Castle. The M&G starts at 6:30 PM going to 9:30/10:00 PM. The Meet & Greet is for OH Conference Attendees. Not those just wanting to mingle and get samples Friday night and go home. Also this is an Adult Event and not for children.

Michael, I am fully aware what the M&G is for. I would not drive four & a half hours and pay for a conference and for two nights at a hotel just to mingle and get samples. My problem was that I did not want to waste the day on Friday waiting for my friends and miss the M&G. Maybe I should re-think trying to get there early to meet my fellow OH members.

Toni, NAAAAWWWWW... Don't do that! Come on and enjoy yourself. I live in Northeast FL. or I would offer you a lift. There are going to be a lot of nice people at the M&G and I am more excited about meeting all the nice folks I have been communicating with online for about 2 years now than the actual conference! I am sure I will learn a lot and enjoy the conference too. I am sure that Mike's reply to your post was the result of a simple misunderstanding of your message. I had just been talking to a few other locals who just stated they were just coming for Friday night and not Saturday. I'll re-ost the second pary seperately. Why can't people just come to the meet and greet? It is not a free event and some people have other committments and cannot attend the conference on Saturday. Red

Toni, I don't think Michael meant to imply anything. He's a good guy - we're all looking forward to the event. Just give it a chance. Sometimes - emailing loses something in translation. I won't be able to get there until later in the evening. I hope I can get there in time for the M&G. Looking forward to meeting everyone! Barbi

If I were going up I would totally give you a lift...I hope you find a way up on Friday...the meet and greets...although typically not such a planned event...are always one of the BEST parts of the events because your get the chance to talk to everyone...the next day you're going to be doing more listening...but be sure to go out to dinner with a group on Saturday also!!!! OK Sarah, I heard all about you, and saw the pictures, too in CA. So I figured you would be one of the great people I would get to fiinally meet in Orlando what with you being from Miami. So what gives? I am so sorry I won't get to meet you. I believe I will even be bringing Amy Williams with me. Pat
