Well it has been a few weeks since I posted but it has been a productive few weeks for me! I saw Dr Webb on Tuesday the 17th and all is a go Debbie at his office said she would call me by tomorrow with my date! Looks like it will be right around the 1st of May at this point. Getting ready to start my 2 weeks of diet (no Carbs) and 2 days of liquids then the next day is surgery. I have been so excited and ready to get this going but I woke up at 5AM this morning and I was so scared I could barely breath!! I started thinking about all that could go wrong and I worked myself up into a big ball of nerves!! On Tuesday at Dr Webbs office there was a man there who told the lady next to me he had lost 150 pounds since last Aug. 15th. But he said it has been a nightmare for him. He said he still can not tolerate any real food. He lives on protien shakes and cheese puffs! He said he is sorry he did it and would never do it again if he had the choice! Well that scared the crap out of me don't you know!! So I guess thats what brought on my attack of the nerves!! I know in my heart this is the right thing for me to do but now I am having second thoughts! Is this normal? Please someone help me!!!!! I need some positive reinforcement from all of you out there and fast please!!!

Well Judy, your almost ready to Board the WLS Train to continue your Journey to Losersville. Remember along the way everyone has different Surgeon's diets to follow so don't be discouraged because they eat differently than what your eatting. That guy has taken on his routine without consulting anyone for help. I doubt he's an OH member or even attends regular Support Meeting. Guys do lose faster than women but those who attend Support Forums and Meeting do much better than those who don't. You might even consider taking the OH Leadership Program even if you don't run a Support Group. It'll lift your Spirits. Plus are you coming to the OH Conference, I went as a Pre-op my first year and am so involved in helping others now. We'll be seeing you Lighter Later, Mike PS-Please fill in your OH Profile as someone may be Inspired by your story to continue on one day and not give up!

Thanks Mike! I know I will be alright just a case of the nerves I guess!! I ask the guy if Dr Webb new about all of his eating problems and he said yes. But he really just seemed unhappy. Sorry I won't be attending the convention this time but maybe in the future I will. I will keep you posted but please keep the help and prayers coming for me!!!

Judy, Keep in mind that everyone has a different experience with the surgery. Dr. Webb did my surgery on 11/15/06 and I'm down 73 lbs. I never had a bad experience. I do eat regular food but the key is that you eat slow, chew, chew, chew and small portions along with doing my protein shake in the morning and vitamins. Follow Dr. Webb's advise and ALWAYS come here for questions. If I wondered about something that my body was going through I came to the forum and got answers right away. I'm here in Middleburg and would be happy to help you any way I can. Send me an email with your surgery information and I'll be happy to come by to visit, chat and answer any questions you may have.
