Hi Eric, Please get a second opinion! Dr. Paul Wizman, MD is my surgeon. He gets the task of having to do a lot of revisions and repair work on the patients the other doctors brake... I'm so sorry to hear you're suffering through so much pain and complications. Check out Dr. Wizman's site: www.drwizman.com His office is located in Margate, FL. I agree with you, what the heck is a "band" doing inside you when you had RNY??? An excellent question, and one that I'm certain Dr. Wizman would be even more interested in finding the answer to. He is fantastic. His surgeries are flawless lap scope. He never finishes "open." Please call him. He's in surgery all day today. But it sounds as if your situation is an emergency. Dr Marema with US Bariatric in St. Augustine has by far the longest long standing reputation among bypass surgeons as he was the original South Florida Bariatric Surgeon. He did my RNY surgery in 02. Now with a gastric fistula, I'm facing a repair also and will make the sacrifice to ensure Dr. Marema is the only onethat operates on me. I do have a question regarding the risks, likelihood of further complications? I cant seem to even eat soup because the pain is so horrendous that i can't imagine how folks gain so much weight back before they even know there's a prob. ((scared in south florida))
