Hi, Is anybody here from the Panhandle/Pensacola/Escambia/Santa Rosa/NW FL area? Has anybody here used Tricare Prime for retirees as their insurance? I haven't had my surgery yet, but I have completed my health history profile and have my appt. scheduled to get a referral from my PCP who is already aware that I have been considering this for several months. I look forward to getting to know ya'll! Robynn

Come to the Conference! I did two years ago, it was such a Motivator! And I made loads of friends to keep Sipporting me as now I'm a Post-opter doing well. Open a OH Profle too as one day someone interested in these Surgeries may read yours and be Inspired rather than giving up. Mike

Welcome Robynn- Tricare seems to be among the easiest insurances with which to work. As long as you meet the requirements of 100lbs over ideal weight with at least one co-morbidity (the reg has a list of the sanctioned co-morbidites) or are at least 200% over ideal weight and no co-morbidities. Since you are prime you will have to get your PCP on board to make the referral to a network surgeon. I believe Dr. Lord in Pensacola is a network provider -- but I am not sure. I have tricare standard so I do not have to see network providers, nor do I have to have referrals. Good luck and let us know how we can help. Red
