Approved !!!

I went to the informational meeting at Dr Jawads office on April 3rd and I heard from my insurance today that I have been approved!!!! It is freaking me out that it is so quick! The girl at the Dr's office told me to get my stuff together and maybe we can schedule for May! What a shock. I still have all my tests and stuff left to do so I am really going to have to get in gear and get that done. I go see my PCP on Wednesday to see what all he is going to require before he will give me cardiac clearance...hopefully all will go quickly so we can get going with it before I start getting the heebee-geebees! Wow!!! So fast. I am going to see Dr Jawads on Saturday for my first seminar. What do I need to prepare for it. I want this to go fast too before I change my mind? Are you going for by-pass or lap? I am a sponge for more info. Good luck. Sandy W

Actually the reason it was aproved so quickly was because my insurance only requires a certain BMI and that's it....no 6 month hx or any of that. I have BCBS Federal Employee and I can't believe it was so easy. The only thing that I took to Dr Jawad's office was my medical records from my PC and turns out they didn't even need them. I just have to get all my ducks in a row now and get my blood work, psych eval, nutritionist meeting and get my cardiac clearance. Kevin at Dr Jawads office gives you all the orders for the other test when you are there so I really couldn't have done any of that stuff ahead of time even if I had wanted to. I just feel like I am in a race to get all these tests done and over with! I am going for the RNY.....I understand that alot of people have good luck with the band but I will just admit I don't have much willpower or self-control or whatever and I need to be forced to control my portions...also I LOVE to drink (non-alcoholic and I was afraid that without the possiblity of dumping I would start doing milkshakes or icees or just cokes and stuff that doesn't affect the band. I am ready to get this weight off and don't want to leave myself any room to cheat! Let me know how the meeting goes on Saturday and I'll keep updateing too! Toni

Wow Toni! I am just 9 days post op and it took me a few months to get everything done. I have an insurance that requries you to jump through all the hoops but that is great you are approved! I will never forget the day Dr J's office called me and told me I was approved! It is such a feeling! You can get all the appointments done quick if you stay on top of them. If you are in the area of Ocala you will be able to schedule them with office that work with his office! I went for my first post op appt yesterday and I lost 11 pounds in my first week! So keep your head up and think positive. YOU CAN DO IT!!! He is one of the best for the type of surgery you are going for! Pam

Now I am more excited about seeing the dr on saturday. I have bcbs florida with the state. I hope it is good to me to. I have put this off too long and want to get back into life. Sandy W

Toni, if you can get them to schedule for your surgery for a Wednesday, then I will be your angel. You will have an angel visit you regardless....

Thank you so much for the offer...I need all the angels I can get ! Actually Wednesday's work great for me since I have alot of church family who will want to know how I am doing....my pastor could pass on word...also that would give me the rest of the week and weekend for my hubby to be home and help and then go back to work....a few days of him "tending" me will probbly be all I can handle...after that I want my MOMMY !!!! Forty-one years old and there is still no-one like Mom when I am feeling bad! Toni
