DS Surgeons in Sounth Florida??

Hi everyone! I am new to this board...however, I had the open DS in May 2005 in upstate NY. ( I moved to Port St. Lucie last year) It has been very successful, however now that I am 6 months pregnant I have been very anemic. I would like to know if anyone could recomend a Dr. that is familiar with the DS procedure that I could switch my follow-up care with. I am seing both an OB an a hemotologist, however neither are familiar with the DS. Thanks so much!! ~Sheryl

Hi Sheryl, Welcome to Florida! Dr. Keith Kim at US Bariatric Orlando in Celebration used to perform the DS - and may even start doing it again. Of course, he currently follows his DS patients. Would you be willing to travel to Orlando? If so, I can ask him Monday about follow up. HTH, Kristen

We will need your op report and your last upper GI before the consult for review. We'll also want you to attend our nutrition class, so that we're all on the same page.
