ANY FROM ORLANDO??

Is anyone from Orlando or got/getting their surgery at Florida Celebration Hospital? That's where I'm getting my surgery. Was curious what others experiences were with Doctors

Hi Amanda, I had surgery at Florida Celebration Hospital. It was an excellent experience I love every thing from that hospital. You will be in excellent hands. Are you having surgery with Dr. Kim or Dr.Marema? They are extraordinary the staff is excellent. My Dr. is Dr.Kim I had my RNY on 6/19/06 I'm doing really good. I feel like a million $$$$. Hi Heidi, Glad to hear you had such a great experience. So far I think the staff there is great. So quick to return calls and really talk you through every step. Originally I was going to have my surgery with Dr. Kim, however, he only operates on Monday and Tuesdays and that wasn't good days for me because my family couldn't come in to town on either of those days, so I switch to Marema. I had an initial consultation with Dr. Kim and I was sure he was going to say no working on me because I am a bit under 40 bmi with no personal health issues. However, both my parents are extremely overweight as my family in general and my parents have all type of genetic health problems from diabetes to high blood pressure to cancer. So he felt as a prevention it was good to get the surgery while I am healthy enough to get it. I was grateful for that. How much have you lost so far?

Hi Amanda, I am the concierge for US Bariatric Orlando, as well as a 2+ year post-op of Dr. Kim's (RNY). I'd like to think that the office staff is pretty terrific! Seriously, if you ever need anything, we're only an email or phone call away. Drs. Kim and Marema are amazing surgeons, and amazing men. Orlando Magazine just rated Dr. Kim as the #1 surgeon in their annual rating issue, published in January 2007. He is known for giving out his personal cell phone number to patients (one patient thought it was the answering service and not Dr. Kim - so he "tested" it at 4:00AM one morning. You are awesome. That is what I love about everyone that I have met at that office so far. Everyone has been so incredibly helpful. I was dealing with Jennifer trying to get my surgery date and had major issues with my primary dr. getting my paperwork together and getting him to write and send my suregery release. Poor Jennifer, I felt bad cause I called her almost everyday having to ask if the paperwork got in yet. Finally it came in and she went over everything from this point on step by step. I am still nervous but am comforted by their help and the support from this forum. I originally was going to have Dr. Kim but my family couldn't come in on Monday or Tuesday so I had to change to Dr. Merema. I have not met him yet, only Dr. Kim, but I will when I go for my pre-op appointment on the 17th. Perhaps I will see you there.

Are you talking about the same Dr. Merema who was at Holy Cross in Fort Lauderdale a few years ago? He did my sister's RNY a few years ago. I was just wondering if he moved up to Central Florida. Stacey
