health insurance after gastric bypass surgery

Does anybody know or could help me find health insurance in Florida because my COBRA will expire in August 2007 ?Thank you.

I feel for you, I really do. I called EVERYWHERE and no one would insure me on a private policy post gastric bypass. A couple of companies told me that if I was 2 years post op with no complications they would insure me. I am also on a Cobra but have a good year left. My best bet was getting back to full time work and getting insurance through my job, which should be effective soon. I actually thought seriously about getting myself a policy and NOT telling them I had gastric bypass surgery - and then praying nothing happened relating to the surgery. Otherwise with normal doctor visits and such they'd never know. But that's risky too. If I were desperate, I think I'd do it!! Good luck to you, I do hope you find a solution.
