I am in the process of getting my nutritional consult and my psych evaluation scheduled...I got a few names from Dr Jawads office but wanted to see if anyone recommended any of them in particular or even someone not on the list....I would do Jacksonville or Ocala or anywhere in between.....also if anyone has any "DON"T GO TO THIS PERSON" stories please fill me in on those too! Thanks a heap! Toni Bunch

Hey!!!! Congratulations on getting all your tests scheduled. Jennifer, the nutritionist, is just wonderful. She will talk to you over the phone, see you in the office, and attends most all the support meetings in Ocala. Can't say enough about her, and how profuondly 'good at what she does' she is. Now,,,about the psych eval,,,,,I went to someone suggested, out of a list of 5. He was somewhere close to the office in Ocala. I did try to look closer for someone, but really, no one wanted to talk concerning WLS....really weird. And I was in a hurry. So I paid my 250 bucks to this person who gave me a really long multiple choice questioneer...The same 10 questions asked 100 different ways. I think he was cleaning his desk while I was there. If you think you might need someone to talk to down the road,,,look for someone who you will go back to for that,,,that will be there for you. If you just need the OK for surgery, and don't have the extra time,,,,then go to the name on the list. I don't know how much this helps,,,,but it's all I have to offer Good Luck, and let us know how you are doing.

Thanks! I talked to Jennifer yesterday so I feel comfortable with her. As far as the Psych goes...I really do just want to get the OK for the surgery so I will just probably go with one of the guys listed in the book. Is the deal with Jennifer just a one time over the phone thing (please say yes!) or are there multiple meetings you are required to do? Should I do anything like keep a food log for a few days before talking to her or is it mostly just instructional? Sorry for all the questions...I just HATE the unknown ! Thanks for all your help! Toni

Yes, it is just a one time over the phone. She just wants to see where you are, and prepare you for where you are going. She will also make herself available for future visits, should you need them. She attends the meeting, so she is always helpful with any nutritional information you may need. Good luck for psych,,,,,It will be interesting,,,if nothing else LOL.

Hi, I don't know if your interested in this but it might be closer to your home. I used Sherry Risch in St. Augustine on route one. She has a PHD in psychology. I got an appoinment within a week. My appointment was at 10am but I went in at 8am and took the 560 question fill in the blank test. After I was finished I sat with her for about 20 minutes. She asked a lot of simple questions such as the past presidents abc's, count your numbers, to make sure you didn't have any obvious problems, and than she talked to you about WLS to make sure you knew what you were getting into. If you decide to use her let me know and I'll give you all of the details Josie
