The Phone Call!!!

Well it happened!! I received my approval today!!!! I received a phone call from Megan this morning just before 9 AM saying BCBS had given approval for my surgery to be done!!! So things should go very fast from this point forward she said. Monday I go to the hospital for the few medical test and I have to see the dietition next week and sign off on some paper work. Then I will have a visit to the surgeon, he will schedual me and see me one more time before surgery. Thats the short version of it all. I know it's a little more intailed but for the most part I have completed everything. Megan says if all goes well I should expect to have my surgery by the end of April or first of May! I was so nervous the past few weeks waiting for the answer from BCBS. It was hard not to set and just think about it all day! Thank you all who have sent me best wishes and encouragement. I shall continue to keep you posted. Please keep the prayers coming for the DR and the surgical team and me!!!!

Cograts!!! I am still in the process of applying and I am concerned...but only a little, Go for it! It has taken me 10 years to get to this point...and I'm not giving up for anything...so get going and start your new life. I will be just afew months behind you. Donzi ;-)

Donzi, hang in there it will happen if it is ment to. Pray about it thats what I did and it helped me. It took my insurance BCBS 4 weeks to decide and get back to me on it. They took their sweet time!!! The waiting was hard but worth it and yours will be also. I will keep you in my prayers. Stay in touch. Judy

Judy, Thank you! That is why I am here on these boards. I guess we will work on this together. I am hoping to have my RNY in Auguest or September (I am planning to have to negotiate with insurance) Any way, that will give me the time I need to mentally prepare. I go for my psyc and nutrition eval in about a week...and belive it or not, I am excited about the idea. Going to Clevland Clinnic Weston... I will pray for you as well, stay in touch! Donzi 8-)

Great news. I am just starting, meeting with dr on the 20th. New book for BCBS just came today. I looked up excluded coverage and it states that weight loss is not covered except for grastic by-pass when medically necessary. Ok who in thier right mind would want to have the surgery if it was not MEDICALLY NECESSARY. Anyway, good look. We will all be her for you. Sandy W.
