I had a Laproscopic Roux-n-y surgery 3 years ago and have been thru literal hell the last two years due to a plethora of complications. Three GI's have advised me to have the Roux-n-y reversed. However, I'm having difficulty finding a qualified & experienced surgeon to help me. I live in the Tampa/St. Petersberg area but will travel anywhee in Florida that I have to to get the help I do desperately need. Can anyone refer me to a qualified surgeon that does revisions? I have Secure Horizons Modicare PPO for Insurance. If you can help please call me @ 727-237-3817. If it cost you $ to call long-distance I'll happily reimburse you. Plesae help if you can.

Stephen, my surgeon does revisions but we're in Jacksonville. Check out his webpage: www.obesityresolved.com When you call his office, tell them I saw your post and replied and asked you to call. I know that Dr. Cywes knows surgeons in the Tampa area that he could recommend because my sister vacations there and he always tells her not to worry if something happens to her band while she's there... he knows the right surgeons to send her to down there. So, my guess is, he'll be able to help you as well. The worse part about calling the office is getting thru to a real human. If you leave a meassage they say they'll call back by end of business day. If they don't, call back the next day and press whatever numbers it says to get to Irene. She's the office manager. Dr. C said I could refer people to her if they didn't get a call back, as promised. Good luck, Stephen. I think my surgeon can walk on water and I have no doubt he can help you. I'd love to know what happens....could you email me? La Wanda

Hi Stephen, So sorry you are having so many problems! I live in Broward County in the Hollywood area. My Lap-band was done by Dr. Thomas Bass of Surgical Consultants of Hollywood. His colleague is Dr. Bret Cohen. S-C-O-H has a website with a message board as well. I have a very high level of confidence in Dr. Bass. Their Bariatric program is well staffed and the staff is very well informed. While I don't know for sure that they do revisions I would assume that they do. Phone # 954-966-8559, or [email protected], or www.s-c-o-h.org Dr. Bass also did a hernia repair on my husband. We have both had good outcomes and he is very thorough and responsive. He works out of Hollywood Memorial Regional Hospital. I hope this info helps and I wish you well. I will follow the message up with a phone call, but you now have all the info in your computer so you won't lose it. Lorraine

I am an RN in a surgical ICU at Shands teaching hospital. I work with these people and can tell you that either Dr. Rout or Dr Cendan can do the surgery you are asking about. Complex cases is what they live for. Rout and Cendan have done thousands of surgerys. Both are thorough and careful. Rout doesn't have much of a personality, but who cares so long as he's good?? 352-265-0035 is the number I believe. Sorry for all the complications you've had.
