Dr Jawad

I have an appointment for an intial visit with Dr Jawad te first week of April...I would just love to hear what others think/know about him and his office...also they told me I would meet in a group first and then see the Dr....what is that all about...can anyone give me any ideas of what to expect. I am SOOOO excited!

Dr. Jawad is EXCELLENT!! I have nothing but great things to say about him! He operated on me and my husband. Great guy, pretty quiet, but he knows his stuff and his statistics are out of this world. He is one of the few surgeons that do still use the G-tube if you're having RNY. That is a requirement from him and it stays in for 6 weeks after surgery. The "group" setting is basically a bunch of information on surgery, what to expect, things like that. Usually Kevin (his PA)(who is WONDERFUL by the way) usually speaks, along with Jennifer, the nutritionist, and usually Shelia (who performs surgery with him, kind of like his right arm woman so to speak.. lol) Then you go back into one of the rooms and you meet with Dr. J. Dr Jawad is awesome. His office runs like a well oiled machine. They are a center of Excellence, and this is ALL they do,,,,not just one of the things they do. I had my LAP-BAND with him 7 months ago,,,,doing great!!! His aftercare can't be beat. I attend his monthly support groups, and feel like I have a second family in his staff and patients. Enjoy your visit. This is only the beginning.

I also love Doc J! I am only one month out from my lap RNY and still have my tube. Hoping to get it removed the 19th. He is very professional and sympathetic.
