WHY?

I had surgery (LAP BAND) a week ago and where my 2 in*****ision is I have it very swolen :-( FEELS & LOOKS LIKE A GOLF BALL ! is this normal?????

no... its not normal... i would probley get to the dr about that.. keep us posted

hi well first i want to thank you for wrighting back! i just spoke to the doctor and he said it was normal for it to be swolen. he said its only a week and to give it a couple of weeks more. i have an appointment on the 12th to see him so ill make sure he looks at it and tells me the same in person! i live 2 hours away from him so its not like i could just get up and go see him asap. you know what i mean. so ill wait and see ;-( i hope it is ok! did you have the lap band? if so how long ago and how much have you lost? i was 212 and i have lost 18 pounds so far. you know within the 10 days pre op and a week after surgery. i live in florida and im 30. you? thank you again for your concern and i hope we can become friends ;-) ismary

well... yeah its normal to be swollen... but NOT normal to have a golfball size mass.... no.. i had rny 2 years ago.... im down 120ish.... i live in southflorida....in ftlauderdale.... and im 21....

As Lex wrote, it is not normal to have a golfball-sized mass. Is it hot to the touch? Streaked? Anything leaking from the incision? If so - color? Thickness? Smell? Painful to touch? Fever? Aches? Get it checked ASAP, if for nothing but peace of mind. HTH, Kristen
