Any Jacksonville Support groups

I am in Jacksonville and 3 months post op..I am in SERIOUS need of a good support group in my area...any info would be GREAT!! THANKS!!

Hi Tabitha: I have the PERFECT support group for you....though I may be a little prejudice, since I'm the support group leader. Let me give you some background in hopes that we'll see you soon: We meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. The meeting starts at 10 and usually runs til about 2 and everybody comes and goes at their leisure. We bring our breakfast and/or lunch and/or snacks and/or new products to share. We have a free clothing exchange as well as a free product exchange. We have 2 men in our group so we have clothing from size 5X on down. For the ladies, we also have a few 5X items and then lots more down from there. You simply bring in the clothes you can't wear, take some you can, bring those back when they don't fit, take a smaller size, bring....well, you get the idea. On the product exchange: We've all bought products, got them home and hated them. So, we bring them to the meeting, leave them and take a sample of something someone else has left and that way we can "try it before we buy it". Sure saves money. When there is a 5th Saturday in the month, we try to do something special. Sometimes its a covered dish luncheon, sometimes its a guest speaker. The meetings aren't "structured". We just sit around and talk about the pros and cons, the highs and lows, the good and bad. We also have a luncheon every other Tuesday. This Tuesday, March 6th, we'll be at Bennigan's on Baymeadows Road at 1 PM. We'd love to have you join us if you could. And my husband and I purchased a house just for the purpose of holding these meetings so we don't have to log products or clothing back and forth.
