I'm home!!!!!!
Hi everyone!!!!
I made it!! I came home late this afternoon.
I'd like to say thanks to Jan and Lawanda for updating you guys! Jan you are wonderful and I really enjoyed the visits with you!
Lawanda you are wonderful too! I really didn't expect that you guys would make the trip but thank you fro being there. Dawn, Barbara and Jim too! I understand my children and grandchildren kept everyone entertained in the waiting room.
As for the "uneventful" part of the surgery...They had a very difficult time intubating me and then I went into asystole on the table. Dr. Overcash did chest compressions and they gave me some atropine and I started ticking again! I told them I felt cheated because I didn't see any bright lights or angels or anything. LOL! Anyway it's over and I am real sore but alive and on the losing side. He removed my gallbladder too because he found some stones.
I go back in 2 weeks for my first follow up! So I just wanted to post and say Hi, I made it and move on over so I can get on the bench too! Now I am going to go to bed. Thanks to you all who have been so kind and supportive! Good night now!
Kat
Welcome home Kathy! Ok so that was the EASY part. Now comes the part that will show how strong you really are and from all your other post, I know you're strong and determined.
Be kind to yourself in the first few days but remember this....WALK, WALK, WALk![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/mbgraphics/emoticons/dance.gif)
DANCE ( ok so they look drunk - deal with it) Keep yourself hydrated even if you don't want to eat or drink and follow your Dr's orders. In a metter of weeks you'll get this burst of energy wanting to lift the fridge and clean under it (don't do it - you'll hurt yourself) This energy burst is a little weird but it's your body saying 'I'm alive"
I want wish you the best as you take your first steps, then leap into this new lifestyle.
I'm sure it sound like a cliche but the surgery is truly only a "TOOL" use it wisely.
Keep us posted and post pics when you can!
Big HUGS!

I'm so glad you're home, Kat!! You did so well in the hospital and followed orders to a tee (or should I say, Pee!!! HA!) and your family was right there the whole time, supporting you!!
She did so well running loops around the nurses' station, ya'll should have seen her! It wasn't easy all the time, but Kat was brave and now she is on the losing side!!
Thanks for the good wishes and nice thoughts. As for the ordeal part of it.. I didn't know or remember a thing I am sure it was an ordeal for Dr. Overcash and the OR staff though. I think I was the last of his four pts. to go to the OR that day. Probably a good thing!
My daughter and my grandbabies went home to Georgia this afternoon so I am a little sad but hey I have a whole new life ahead of me and I look forward to the day I can run and chase those little guys all over the yard. Aren't they precious Jan?
Well take care guys I have to get to bed. It is getting late and I know I need to get plenty of rest the next couple of weeks.
Kat
hi there...glad everything went "well". Thank God the "worst" is over and you're on the recovery side of things..things will be difficult still for a couple of weeks as you get used to the new diet and stuff but eventually you'll get the hang of things so feel free to post any questions. Prayers out to ya! Hugs
