Hi, I'm really sorry to read about your struggles. A good place to maybe post this would be to the revisions forum, or complications forum. You can find both by hovering your mouse over the forums link up top and then choose All Forums. Best of luck!

Susan- I am sorry you have had such problems. I know of at least one person who posts on the DS forum who had problems with the lap band and was later revised to the DS. You might try posting this on the DS forum and see if she responds. Red

Susan, I'm a support group leader here in Jacksonville and would love to talk to you one-on-one. Actually, I'd like my sister to talk to you as well. We were banded on the same day and I've not had many problems at all and she's already had to have a second surgery. Would you please consider emailing me and let's talk. Maybe between my sister and myself, we can be of some help. La Wanda 308/218/200

1st, congratulations on the baby...2nd, the great thing about the band is that it is what I call a "born again" band. If you have a gain, or need to be unfilled for any reason, you can begin again...The first thing I would look into is if maybe the wrong sized band was placed...It is uncommon to be still experiencing problems with food being stuck in an unfilled band this far post op. In the weeks following surgery, it can happen due to swelling from surgery, but that usually subsides within the first month or so...3rd, you chose a form of WLS that is able to be reversed...If, after consulting with your surgeon, you feel that the band isn't your best option, you can chose to have it removed--the beauty of the band!--and maybe explore the other great WLS out there!! Best of luck! Also, why not post this on the band forum? There are some VERY "band-wise" people there who can maybe give you some ideas.
