Lexa is right but even after 1 yr - it does something to you. Not worth the empty calories - if you MUST try it - then at least have your 1st drink at home because your body will now process liquor differently.

I had my first drink at 2 years out. I was out to happy hour with folks from work. I drank, oh, about one neck of a bottle of Sam Adams. Boy, it was good - but I was so loopy!! Maybe it would be a good idea to try at home in a safe environment. HTH, Kristen

Diana, There is an excellent article in Barbara Thompson's most recent newsletter about recommendations for alcohol consumption after weight loss surgery. It is a free newsletter and if you have not already subscribed to it I highly recommend it!! Here is the link for the Feb. 1st, 2007 issue of Barbara Thompson's WLS Center Newsletter. http://www.wlscenter.com/NLArchive/feb_1_2007.htm Vickie J.
