He is a Township Manager with a budget of 66 million dollars a year. He is also the Zoning Officer and had worked in Code Enforcement.
He applied for the position of Building Official in Cape Coral last Feb. (never heard from them).
Building Official in Fort Meyers this past July (hired a Florica resident).
Assistant City Manager in Cape Coral 2 weeks ago. Haven't heard anything yet.
Guess we keep trying. If you hear of anything similiar to these positions please let me know.
Thank you so much for your interest.

Collier County has a lot of positions open in this area and similar ones. The country government is much more robust and has a lot more jobs open than the various cities. Here in FL, many areas are outside of city jurisdiction. He should also try Lee County, FL, which is the county where Fort Myers and Cape Coral are located.
Separately, a number of builders are looking for job superintendents, if he feels comfortable with that position. If he is apply for any particular collier county job, let me know and I'll see what we can do for him.
Liz I am a transplant almost 11 yrs now from Montogomery Co, Pa to Lee County, Fl. Can't advise on what the job situations are here as we were retired went we built our home here, came on vacation bought a house instead of a postcard, several months later in 96 we were living here. I feel like a Floridian now, have no intentions of moving back to frigid weather. Keep pushing him on the applications, something will open. Sending warm wishes from So. Fort Myers, though its pretty chilly this morning.(52 degrees)
