I am going to be purchasing a medic alert bracelet. I was just wondering if any of you have bought one and if so, what did you have printed on yours? I'm looking for suggestions. Thanks a bunch. Sherry

Hi Sherry I got my bracelet - broke now it's actually on my keychain... but the stuff on it doesn't apply anymore except the most important.... You must must must indicate NO NG Tube if you have had RNY. This way they won't SHOVE the tube down your throat and mess up pouchie..... Good luck! Barbi

Sherry, It is the same for the band patients. We just cannot fit all things down there, sometimes we are just too tight. Mine states; name, lapBand gastric banding, No NG tube, Dr name-location. I got mine at www.makemethis.com. They make them for as low as $5.99 for up to 4 lines of info. Good luck!

Also, make sure you have information about your surgery, allergies, medicine, and medical conditions on a list behind your driver's license. You can also make up a med info on your cell phone that EMT's etc. will check. preferably info kept in wallet behind drivers license. Liz
