Hi, I'm chuck, charlottes p. better half. thanks for all info. it helped cement my decision. I'm having my second meeting 1/29/07. all my test will be done 1/15/07. I have been working out (tread mill, total gym, weights) off and on for 10 years.so i am in pretty good shape, but still weigh 295. I have fought it all my adult life and just tired of it. I'm 50 now and want to try and head off any future problems caused by weight.charlotte is having this done after me (6 to 8 months).she is 13 years younger than me. i don't believe she needs this done, but she is tired of fighting the weight problem. she will never look more beautiful to me, no matter what !if it were not for all the positive feed back on this site, i would not have done it this quick. we just started looking into this in 12/06.as we all have learned, nothing worth having is easy. it just takes a little sacrifice. Look forward to hearing from you all. chuck

Hey Chuck, My name is Hugh and I am 54-years old and weigh approx. 295 lbs. I also tried to lose on every diet you can think of, with no luck. Many people say I don't look that bad because of the way my body is, the weight is spread out everywhere, not only in one place. Every since I retired from the Sheriff Office I have been gaining more and more weight. Long story short, I have already went through all the approval process and I will be getting the RNY Gastric Bypass surgery this coming Monday Jan 15th 2007. Wish me luck and once I get home I will let everyone know how it went. Later Hugh [email protected]

hi, it was could to hear from you ! it sounds as thou you and i have about the same build.if you don't mind me asking, why did you choose the gastric bypass over the lap band ? i looked at both and it seemed alot less risky choosing the lap band.my doc recomended the lap band to me for that reason.the only draw back seemed to be a little slower weight loss, which is probally better, skin srinkage and all. i lost down to 220 lbs. on my own about 5 yeasr ago, and did not have any skin problems.i hope i don't here either.this was a spur of the moment thing for me, after seeing it on a tv ad.i just decided that i was tired of fighting it.so you retired from the sheriff office ! that must have been a interesting carear.good luck on the 15 th ! i am sure everything will go just fine.let me know how it all went down. good luck ! chuck
